So have you heard what the latest buzz that all business owners should be doing is "Social Media"?  Unless you have been hiding in a cave with no electricity, cell service or internet access, you have most likely been exposed at least once per day with this phrase.

So do I participate in Social Media?  Sure I do.  I am a business owner, a full-time real estate professional.  I opened my LinkedIn account in 2007 - before most people knew what it was. I created my Facebook account in 2007 also - to keep track of my "band" kids after they graduated and went to college.  As an active band booster mom, you get attached to your "kids", and it is nice to watch their successes as they grow up and become adults.  I have a Plaxo profile, a Twitter account (read on about Twitter and I), and I'm sure at least one or two more places that I have entered my profile information.

Obviously I have a website that will tell you about me, about the area I serve and a little about the world.  I also blog - which I try to keep interesting, and hope that you think so.  I am not able to stay on top of my blogging as I should....I want to make it at least a little interesting for my readers, so rather than posting something of little value everyday, I try to give you a little something that may be interesting or at least a little humorous as often as I can.

What I must remind all of the people who are paid big bucks for teaching the world about social media is that I have a business to run, not everyone really cares about my day and status, and personally, I find "tweets" annoying, so I don't. 

So, while you will find my professional resume on LinkedIn, and an occasional post in one of the forums, or you will see me in Facebook regularly, you won't see any of it consuming vast quantities of my time, nor will you see me "outsourcing" these activities.  What you will see me doing is taking care of my customers - getting the results for them that they expect.   When you see a blog from me, or a status update or something else online that is supposed to come from me - it will. Because I believe that serving my communities and serving my customers means you get the real me, not the outsourced me.
