Real Estate in Northeast Florida and Around the World

I am a Disney addict.  I love Disney, and all things Disney.  Disney is the place I go where magic exists, no matter how young or old you are.  I always find things that delight me when I go, which is often as my friends and family will attest.  I am there so much I am often asked why not just move there?

First - the traffic is horrendous.  If I could figure out a way to get to Disney and not go near Orlando I would do it.  It is only a 2 1/2 hour drive for me to get my Disney fix, and I only have to navigate I-4 once on my way in and once on my way out.  Enough said.

Second - I don't do Disney in the summer months.  It is too hot and it is too crowded.  And not just Disney, but all of Orlando.  Too hot most of the year and I like the seasons that Jacksonville and Northeast Florida offers. 

Third - No beaches.  None.  Well, Disney's Blizzard Beach doesn't really count.  The closest beach is at least an hour away when you live in Orlando.  And not that I live with my feet in the sand every day, but should I desire a quick tiptoe through the sandbar, I'm 15 minutes away (from my driveway).  And, did I mention I don't have to navigate I-4 to get there?

I could go on and on - bottom line, I love the quality of life that Northeast Florida and Jacksonville offer. It's a slower pace, but not a boring pace.  Just different.  Sure, there is plenty to entertain me and put me into a state of wonder and awe.  From hiking, to biking, to canoeing and kayaking to just strolling the strand.  It's a different pace of life.  I often tell people that you have to go north to find the south in Florida.  The southern customs seem to go away the further south you go.  If there is something more that I want - like Disney - a quick drive south will fix that itch, but for most of my "living", I am as far south as I would like to be.
