The Military in Northeast Florida

I work frequently with incoming and outgoing members of the military, and fully understand the timetables, infrastructure and emotions that are all part of transitioning from base to base, for the service person as well as their family.

The Military has had a place in Northeast Florida's history since the Spanish built Castillo de San Marcos in St. Augustine in 1692.  The Blue Angels began their historic climb at NAS Jacksonville, and the area is often host to international military soldiers and sailors performing joint operations with the United States.  Northeast Florida has a large population of active duty and retired service men and women who have chosen to remain in Northeast Florida due to the friendly culture, climate and quality of life.  You will find a warm welcome for service personnel in all branches of the military.

Today, the following military installations and bases are located in the area:

Naval Station Mayport
Naval Air Station Jacksonville
Blount Island Marine Corps Support Facility
Florida Army and Air National Guard
United States Coast Guard
