Real Estate in Northeast Florida and Around the World

February 27th, 2011 2:50 PM

More and more people around the world are considering relocating to a country other than their country of birth once they reach retirement.  Why?  Quality of life, fulfilling a lifelong dream, being close to a particular culture - you name it.  And with travel being much more affordable today than years past, it is very easy to reach those destinations without a lot of aggrevation.  But where do you want to live after retirement?  Where do you even begin?

Some of the top countries to which people are relocating include Ecuador, Panama, Mexico, France, Italy, Uruguay, Spain and Costa Rica.  Why?  Most people will choose a destination considering cost of living, safety and security, real estate availability, culture and also very important is health care infrastructure.  These countries are all considered highly in these areas, among a few other reasons.  Some countries will also give special benefits for ex-patriots moving in and buying real estate, certain promises or advantages just for purchasing real estate and living in the country for a specified time during the year.

The internet will provide a lot of information as to benefits, culture, safety, etc.  You may also find several people who advertise on the internet to be professional real estate agents.  But be careful - do you really know who that person is on the other end?  Do you know their credentials, references and what they claim to be true is accurate?

The best way to know that you are dealing with a professional on the other end, is to have a trusted partner in your home country, referring you to that agent.  You want to know that the person with whom you are entrusting your investment dollars will provide knowledgable guidance, show you all options that are available and not just what they want to show you, and communicate with you every step of the way.  If you need assistance in finding that person, just let me know.  I am globally connected with literally thousands of Professional real estate associates who will walk in step with you, providing you with valuable information.

So if you are considering retiring in the South of France, or in a tiny Swiss village, or along the Pacific Coast in Panama or Costa Rica, or anywhere else in this big world that we are learning is not so big after all, give me a call and let's chat about it.
